Brazil's largest crypto exchange, Mercado Bitcoin, experienced a security incident on November 2, 2026, resulting in approximately $38 million being drained from its hot wallets and deposit addresses. The exchange has suspended deposits and withdrawals, stated that customer funds and data are unaffected, and will cover the loss. Approximately $11 million has been frozen.
