ARTEX AI agent goes closed-source after being linked to South Korean bank hacks
The open-source AI penetration testing tool ARTEX has been made closed-source and its GitHub page taken down after being linked to cyberattacks on at least seven South Korean financial firms between late September and early October 2026. The attacks compromised personal data of approximately 68,000 individuals, with Shinhan Bank being the most affected.
